Lara graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2015. She went straight into farm animal only practice in the midlands before moving to North East Wales to spend 9 years in farm animal only practice. Lara moved to Forge Farm Vets in 2026 ready to embrace a busy clinical diary. Lara completed her DBR in 2022 and thoroughly enjoys putting all the knowledge she learned into practice helping farmers with preventative health and productivity. Emergency medicine has it's place, but Lara's true passion is in preventative medicine and health planning.
Lara helped set up and run the youngstock service in her previous practice; working with clients to double calf growth rates and reduce antibiotic use by up to 50%. After completing her DBR, Lara spent time on the BCVA Board of Directors, acting as TB lead, where she developed a passion for helping farmers understand TB control and what can be done. Lara understands that TB is devastating, takes a toll on mental health and can feel like a trap with no way out.
Lara is passionate about improving knowledge transfer and communication when it comes to TB control. In her spare time, Lara enjoys spending time with her family and her cocker spaniel.
